An Affordable Education The
Urban Ministry Institute of Los Angeles offers excellent theological and biblical resources and training that is extremely affordable, largely due to the
supplemental and generous support of God's people.
Because we
want this training to be accessible to all who are called by God, we ask that people pay according to their level of ability. This allows us
to serve the maximum number of people and helps us to wisely use the
resources God has given us.
The course charges are made per credit hour. The cost per credit hour varies based on income levels.
We are able to provide theological training at a low cost because of the generous support of God's people. Therefore, we ask those who can afford to pay more of the total cost to do so, in order that those who cannot are able to continue to attend.

Please note that the
tuition and fees listed above do not cover the cost of text books for
students taking courses for two credits. Cost for text books are about
$30-40 per class on average.
Example:
If you are a category "A"
student taking a course for two credits then the cost to take a class
would be: Tuition - $20 and Workbook Fee - $30. Total cost for class
would be $50 (not including textbooks).
If you are a category "B" student
taking a course for two credits then the cost to take a class would be:
Tuition - $40, Workbook Fee - $30 and book costs of about $30. Total
cost for class would be about $100.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
Since
our goal is to strengthen existing and emerging urban churches through
leadership training, it is our strong desire to keep that training
affordable and accessible. If you desire training but money is an
obstacle, write or talk with us so that we can explore various scholarship options. We believe that God will supply what is needed for the school and for our students as we trust in Him.
Our
scholarship program is funded by churches and individual donors who
believe very strongly in the value of theological education and seeing
church leaders empowered for ministry.
A scholarship has been set up for
World Impact missionaries to cover the full cost oftaking a TUMI course (i.e. student
tuition fee, student workbook, textbooks).
2) World Impact Support Staff Scholarship
For World Impact-LA support staff,
the tuition fee for taking a TUMI course will bediscounted by 50%.Note however, that all textbooks needed for
the course must bepurchased at cost (except for the
student workbook which is included under the studenttuition fee).
3) Married Couple Scholarship:
For married couples wanting to take
a TUMI course together:
Student's spouse can take the TUMI
course free of charge if he/she shares the studentworkbook and related
textbook(s) for the class.
However, if the spouse wishes to
have his/her own student workbook and/ortextbook(s), they must be purchased at the designated cost(s).
4) Community Leader Scholarship:
This scholarship will be awarded to community pastors or lay leaders interested in pursuing theological training by The Urban Ministry Institute. Scholarships will only be given to those candidates showing evidence of financial need and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
