The Urban Ministry Institute was born out of a desire to train leaders of churches being planted by urban missionaries and pastors. Whether you are in a brand new or a well-established urban congregation, the ministry training you will receive here expects that you have a passion to see the church of Jesus Christ grow in the city. At TUMI-LA, our training emphasizes evangelism, discipleship, and reproduction. We believe that every believer and every congregation is called to bear fruit.
The one who hears the word and understands it…produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown (Matthew 13:23).

Through our mentored classes, students can access training in their own context without having to relocate. Our goal is to give priority to those who are already doing the work of ministry and who want investment that can be applied immediately for the benefit of their congregation and communities.
If you are looking for ways to become more effective in your current service to Christ, then we exist for you. Our requirements are that you:
• are actively involved in a church and are able to secure a pastor’s recommendation for your involvement in the program • are a functioning disciple of Christ with a desire to reproduce His life in others • are engaged in some form of Christian service that will allow you to apply your learning directly to life.
