Student News!

Student Ministry Highlight:

Philip tells his life story with a profound sense of gratitude to God for giving him another chance at life.  Only three years ago, Philip was in a local hospital being diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition; the attending physician had given him only days to live.  It was then that Philip recognized that he had wasted his life.  As a believer, he trusted Christ in the face of death, yet he prayed, "Lord, if you permit me to live, I'll use my time to serve and glorify you alone!"  At a follow-up appointment, the physician, to his own amazement, discovered that Philip's heart condition had completely reversed itself and there were no signs of his previous ailment!  Philip made good on the promise he made to God and joyfully shares his testimony with anyone who will listen.  He also gives his time generously to those in need.  A former law student, Philip helps those facing daunting legal issues.  As a faithful member of a church plant, he shares responsibility for preaching, teaching, and prayer ministry.  Twice a week, Philip visits the downtown Union Rescue Mission where he assists with chapel services and men's groups.  Philip's TUMI studies have given him a solid theological foundation and practical tools for effective christian ministry among others.  Philips shares with his fellow students a hunger for learning and a desire to make the most of every opportunity.  He arrives early for each class to pray, "God, prepare me for whatever You have for me in this class."
